In response to a lawsuit from Ender's former nanny, Halsey explains their side of the story. According to the nanny, Halsey wrongfully terminated her and has even discriminated her because of her disability. The singer denies everything and has her own accusations against the nanny to share.

Nanny Drunk While Taking Care of Baby

In response to these allegations, Halsey's representative told E! News in a statement, "At no time during this individual's term of employment with Halsey were any complaints even raised.

Consequently, while Halsey is both saddened and disappointed by this turn of events, they feel it is important to refute these allegations publicly. Halsey wants to be absolutely clear that they remain a vocal advocate both against ableism and for ethical working conditions."

Moreover, Halsey's representative termed the lawsuit's allegations "without merit. Instead, the singer said if there is anyone wrong and abusive here, it was the nanny. Allegedly, Ashley Funches was careless in taking care of Halsey's baby, sometimes even drunk while supposedly carrying out her job.

"This individual's employment was recently terminated in response to specific incidents in which Halsey's infant was left unsupervised in an unsafe location while under the nanny's care," Halsey's lawyer said, accusing the nanny of also being "intoxicated while the child was in her care."

E! News has attempted to contact Funches' attorney for comment but has not yet received a response.

Halsey Did Not Pay Overtime and Worked Nanny Round the Clock

Ashley Funches claimed in records filed in a Los Angeles court on June 9 and that she began working as the singer's live-in personal attendant for his then-newborn child, who is now 11 months old, in 2021.

The former nanny claims she was "misclassified" as a "exempt from overtime" employee and that Halsey terminated her in March after she notified the singer that she may need to undergo a medical procedure requiring a leave of absence.

In her lawsuit, Funches argues that as a result, the singer had illegally and unlawfully terminated her in reprisal for her complaints regarding Halsey's non-payment of overtime wages and not observing legal working hours.

Halsey's former nanny alleges elsewhere in her lawsuit that she "regularly worked over nine hours a day and 45 hours a week without overtime compensation," performing tasks such as caring for the child, preparing meals, cleaning-including breast pump supplies, doing laundry, organizing the nursery, and doing so many other errands as well.

Consequently, it felt as if she was working "around the clock" with no opportunity to rest. But she was not compensated properly for these efforts.
