Nearly three decades post-Koyaanisqatsi, Godfrey Reggio and Philip Glass (with the support of Jon Kane and Steven Soderbergh, of course) have created yet another stunning portrait of modern life.
Presented in wordless black 'n' white digi-projection, Visitors reveals humanity's trance-like relationship with technology--which, when commandeered by extreme emotional states, produces an effect far beyond the realm of human cognition.
Comprised of only 74 shots over 87 minutes, this visceral new film takes viewers on a journey to the moon and back in order to have them confront themselves.
Having premièred Philip Glass' Violin Concerto No. 2 (2009) as well as helping his Overture for 2012 come to life, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra will debut the score to Visitors on September 8, as part of the Toronto International Film Festival.
The original soundtrack for Reggio's film, however, was recorded by the Bruckner Orchester Linz with long-time Glass conductor, Dennis Russell Davies.
