Good news for Metallica fans! If you're someone who's honing their instrumental skills and wants to play like the legendary metal band, James Hetfield is here to help you out!
According to Loudwire, the 58-year-old musician is collaborating with Yousician, a visual learning platform that features step-by-step tutorials showcasing some of the best artists in the industry.
Metallica will have a three-lesson course for beginners. Hetfield's lessons will teach fans how to do riffs and rhythms.
The guitarist will not be alone as bandmate Kirk Hammett will accompany him. The other members - Lars Ulrich and Robert Trujillo - will also share insights about their previous songs.
The first course, titled "Riff Lite," was just released today (June 14). The two other lessons, "Rock In Rythm" and "Take the Lead," will drop later this month and in early July.
In the teaser of his online lessons, Hetfield said he's always been "infatuated" with rhythm and syncopation.
The three-part lessons will guide fans over ten of their most popular songs like "Nothing Else Matters," "Welcome Home (Santarium)," "Enter Sandman," and the highly anticipated "Master of Puppets," to which the musician promised that he would teach fans how to play it the correct way.
"Probably the most important thing is the down picking," he said before offering a demonstration on how people could have their approach to guitars.
Yousician's head of artist partnerships, Hadley Spanier, said in a statement that players would have an opportunity to learn how to play like Metallica from the band themselves.
"The unique course pairs unmatched access to the band with Yousician's AI technology so that guitarists-in-training not only get to learn from the masters but also get the feedback they need to improve," she added.
For fans who will try out the courses, Spanier promised them they would feel like they're part of the band along with their idols "as they try to master some of the greatest guitar-driven songs of all time."
According to Yousician's official website, a solo account starts at $31 per year. Fans could also purchase the family bundle that four people could access for $47.
Both bundles will give fans access to more than 10,000 lessons and popular songs, five instruments, and unlimited lesson time.
Aside from guitar lessons, they also offer other singing, ukelele, piano, and bass courses.
