Sinead O'Connor has canceled all of her planned live performances five months after her teenage son Shane's terrible death.
In January, the "Nothing Compares 2 U" singer lost her 17-year-old son, who, according to his mother, "decided to end his earthly struggle today and is now with God."
As she continues to grieve, O'Connor's management team issued a statement stating she is canceling all of her upcoming performances and would not perform for the remainder of the year.
67 Management stated that it was difficult for the artist to unexpectedly cancel her planned gigs, but that she "had to make the decision for her own health and wellness."
"We would like to respectfully announce that due to continuing grief over the tragic loss of her beloved son Shane earlier this year, Sinead O'Connor will not be performing live in 2022," they said in a statement.
"Thank you to Sinead's friends and fans whose support and understanding we hold in the highest esteem throughout this period. The love being shown has been a source of great comfort and peace for Sinead."
O'Connor announced in February that she would no longer perform following the death of her son, stating that there was nothing left "to sing about."
"Just to say, suggestions there'll be any performances this year or next year or ever again are erroneous," she wrote in a now-deleted tweet. "There will never be anything to sing about again. #DropsMike."
The pop star claimed on Twitter immediately after the teen's suicide that he evaded suicide watch in an Irish hospital the day before he committed suicide.
In a now-deleted tweet, O'Connor announced the devastating news.
O'Connor was hospitalized after tweeting threatening remarks that suggested she intended to "follow" her son.
She later reassured supporters that she was fine in a deleted tweet and was sorry for causing great worry.
It took a while before the Irish officials published a missing-persons statement requesting the public's assistance in locating Shane O'Connor. He was reported missing on January 6th.
Shane was last seen in the Tallaght, Dublin 24 area, according to a statement released by the Gardai - the national police department of Ireland - on Thursday.
Following her son's disappearance, the Irish musician posted a series of tweets appealing fervently for him to surrender to the authorities.
Due to data privacy restrictions, the Gardai told CNN that it would be unable to validate the truth of O'Connor's tweets or Shane O'Connor's status as missing.
