Jason Derulo is popularly known for releasing chart-topping R&B and pop hits like "Savage Love," "Whatcha Say," "Talk Dirty," and many more; that's why when he showed his operatic side, fans were shocked upon hearing him belt out seemingly different vocals.

According to Newsweek, a resurfaced live performance video of the singer made rounds on TikTok.

"Soooo in case you didn't know, Jason Derulo is classically trained in opera. I hope this ends up on your fyp," the uploader wrote.

A text can be seen in the short footage that reads, "when I tell you we were FLABBERGASTED when he started singing opera at his concert."

Derulo sang his dramatic rendition of "Goodnight."

The clip amassed millions of views and thousands of comments from users who were shocked to hear a different side of Derulo.

Little did they know, the singer has been singing with operatic vocals during his live shows over the past few years.

In 2015, he sang "Wheels of a Dream" from the Broadway show "Ragtime" while doing a Carpool Karaoke segment with James Corden on his late-night show.

In 2018, he performed at the MTV European Music Awards, where he sang "Time To Say Goodbye" by Andrea Bocelli.

At the time, he tweeted, "This is a side of me that's been burning within for a long time. I was trained classically (operatically) & have sang classical music since I can remember...Should I do a classical project one day?"

Derulo graduated from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy.

Since revealing to the world his musical background, the singer has yet to release an operatic project.

However, he was able to showcase his powerhouse vocals when he played the role of Rum Rum Tugger in the film adaptation of "Cats."

Jason Derulo wasn't the first singer to go viral after showcasing a different side of them.

In 2015, Lady Gaga proved her versatility when she performed at the Academy Awards to honor Julie Andrews by singing "The Sound of Music."

Years before the event, Gaga was popularly known for her bizarre performances and music, so fans were shocked to hear her sing a classical piece.

Since then, Mother Monster didn't shy away from other genres as she had a Jazz and Piano residency at Dolby Live in Las Vegas, Nevada.
