Taylor Swift is officially the queen of surprises as she's set to release another original song for an upcoming film, as announced on social media.
Taking to their Twitter account, the "Out of the Woods" singer's official fan club, Taylor Nation, revealed that the song "Carolina" from the upcoming film "Where the Crawdads Sing" will be released tonight.
"There are things that only Carolina knows... and you soon will too. Taylor's original song #Carolina is out at MIDNIGHT ET," the announcement reads.
The song is available for pre-save here.
The singer also teased the song on her Instagram stories by posting a short audio clip of her singing along with a written message that reads "Carolina Midnight."
A few months ago, Swift shared the trailer of the film on her Instagram account, where she revealed the song's vibes, saying it's something "haunting and ethereal" to match the movie's storyline.
The film was based on a book, and the singer said she got "absolutely lost" when she read it years ago.
"As soon as I heard there was a film in the works... I knew I wanted to be a part of it from the musical side," she wrote.
The upcoming track was produced by Aaron Dessner, while Resse Witherspoon serves as the film's producer.
"Where the Crawdads Sing" cast members include Daisy Edgar-Jones, Taylor John Smith, Harris Dickinson, David Strathairn, Ahna O'Reilly, and many more.
The movie will be released on July 15.
Taylor Swift Working on Another Project to Be Released This Year?
Fans are still waiting for Taylor Swift to drop the remaining re-recorded versions of her previously-released albums, and it seems like they got a clue about the next "Taylor's Version" record.
In early reports, many fans speculated that the "Shake It Off" singer would release the re-recorded version of "1989" anytime soon.
Despite the rumors circulating online, Swift has not revealed an official release date or tracklist, but fans are hoping for a surprise as the singer is popularly known for releasing new music out of nowhere, like her sister albums "Folklore" and "Evermore" in 2020.
Twitter users gathered clues Swift had teased during her virtual appearance at the Las Culturistas Culture Awards last weekend.
Many of them pointed out that Swift changed her hairstyle, showed a "1989" framed chalkboard, as well as changed her fashion sense, hinting that a new album is coming out soon.
