Adele recently said that she had a recent "big moment" in her life that had nothing to do with music or her boyfriend, Rich Paul.
Just a few weeks before her father, Mark Evans, died, the singing sensation allegedly repaired her broken connection with him.
"When I found out Dad was unwell a few years ago, I received the call, and I drove right there," the 34-year-old recalled in a candid interview with "Desert Island Discs" via Mirror, after performing twice on London's Hyde Park over the weekend.
The "Rolling in the Deep" singer discussed her connection with her alcoholic father, with whom she was estranged but reunited soon before his death in 2021.
Mark succumbed to cancer.
Though the father-daughter relationship had been strained for some years, when she received word that her kid was ill, she apparently put the past behind her and drove to visit her father.
"It was hard," the "Easy On Me" singer said, "but it was one of the biggest moments of my life in a wonderful manner when I went to visit him."
Adele went on to state that she "made peace with him" after learning he was dying and that their connection was repaired before he died.
"I don't recall him being humorous when I was a kid. But that was pleasant," Adele explained. "We laughed, gossiped, and cried together. It was fantastic for both of us."
Mark divorced Adele's mother, Penny Adkins, when the Grammy winner was just three years old.
Their divorce, along with the loss of Mark's father from cancer, contributed to his drinking, and he later separated himself from his daughter, causing their relationship to suffer.
Mark worked as a plumber until retiring due to health issues, admitting to The Sun in 2011 that he was a "rotten" father when his daughter needed him the most.
He admitted to drinking two liters of vodka and roughly eight bottles of beer every day for three years.
"God alone knows how I got through it. I felt ashamed of myself and realized the best thing I could do for Adele was to make sure she never saw me in that situation again."
Adele's "30" album includes the song "To Be Loved," which explores how her father's absence affects her capacity to trust.
She forced her father listen to the full album over a Zoom call in April 2021, and their talk gave her closure.
