Fans couldn't wait any longer for The 1975 to release their highly-anticipated album "Being Funny In A Foreign Language." To keep their supporters excited, frontman Matty Healy returned to Reddit to give additional information about their upcoming project.
According to NME, the singer has rejoined the community platform and commented on a post, saying he started doing interviews where he would explain songs and their context.
Healy went on to discuss and give trivia about a song titled "New York," which fans believed would be a part of the new album.
The unreleased track was performed in Los Angeles during Phoebe Bridger's show last year.
The frontman clarified that the song would not be a part of their new project, but he gave an insight into how it came to fruition.
Initially written by Benjamin Francis Leftwich, Healy said he loved the song, but it didn't have a bridge.
By the time when he opened up the idea to Bridgers, he started writing the missing parts, and then it became a part of their band.
"New York will be finished eventually but is not a song of The 1975. Love you see you really soon x," he concluded.
Fans shouldn't be sad as The 1975 has more songs in the coming months. The Dirty Hit band will release 'Part Of The Band,' the first song off their upcoming album, this Thursday, July 7.
The recent Reddit comments come a few weeks after the English band finally revealed the title of their long-awaited album.
They also teased fans by deactivating their social media accounts, having random posters plastered around England, and sharing small details online.
Their fifth studio album is called "Being Funny In A Foreign Language," a follow-up to their successful 2020 album "Notes on a Conditional Form."
The album will feature 11 tracks listed below:
- The 1975
- Happiness
- Looking For Somebody (To Love)
- Part Of The Band
- Oh Caroline
- I'm In Love With You
- Wintering
- Human Too
- About You
- When We Are Together
Uproxx noted that the upcoming album is the band's shortest record so far, as their previous projects were packed with lengthy tracklists.
2018's "A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships" had 15 songs, while "NOACF" had 22.
As of this writing, The 1975 has not announced an official release date for the album.
