Even though it's summertime and the holiday season is still a few months away, Backstreet Boys has just announced that they will release their first-ever Christmas album. They also revealed that it took them many years before coming up with the record.
The band shared the announcement to their official Instagram account, saying the Christmas album has been "nearly 30 years in the making," but it's finally happening.
They added that the band "couldn't be more excited to share it with you all. Tell your friends the holidays start early this year." (via People Magazine)
The album, titled "A Very Backstreet Christmas," will be available for streaming starting October 14. Fans can visit their official website to pre-order CDs and vinyl.
The upcoming record will contain 13, three of which are originals, while the rest are covers of Christmas classics.
The official tracklist is listed down below:
1. "White Christmas"
2. "The Christmas Song"
3. "Winter Wonderland"
4. "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas"

A Target edition will also be available that will include bonus tracks like "Feliz Navidad" and "It's Christmas Time Again."
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Howie Dorough gave fans a teaser on what to expect on their new project, saying they're deciding on "Last Christmas" to be the first single for the album.
It took so long for them to release the album because they had a hard time deciding which songs to add to their record as they had over 50 choices.
Backstreet Boys also had the opportunity to work on the album during the pandemic when their highly-anticipated DNA World Tour was canceled.
Dorough considered the beginning of the pandemic as a "gift of time" for them to work on the record.
"We started working on this about two years ago. Normally, during regular times, we're always on tour. So, now that we have the time off we started working on it," the singer said.
Today, the band is currently traveling across the United States for their tour. They added new dates to cities like Nashville, Portland, Memphis, and other European venues starting in Portugal on October 3.
