Chris Brown has been one of the most influential hip-hop and R&B artists in the past decade. But like others, the hitmaker also has his own musical inspirations for his illustrious music career.
In a recent interview, Chris Brown was asked a question that many artists from the genre have been eager to answer - to name their own Mt. Rushmore.
Like the real Mt. Rushmore in South Dakota, hip-hop has its own big four artists/major influences; in Chris Brown's case, his very own monument is a little bit odd.
Chris Brown's Names His 'Personalized' Mt. Rushmore
Asking to name one's Mt. Rushmore of Hip Hop is not an easy feat for any singer or rapper from the genre, and Chris Brown thought of a unique way to name his.
Chris Brown confidently responded to the eve hard question: "JAY-Z, Nas, Big L and 2Pac."
But after a quick thought, the Yeah 3x singer had a change of mind and apparently a light bulb moment.
"Skrrt, put Biggie in the spot of Nas! I love Nas, damn, it's fuckin' up! Damn, hold up I'm sorry. Rakim in there too, I'm sorry! That's all mine. Everybody I said, those are in my Mt. Rushmore. I made my own Mt. Rushmore," the rapper exclaimed.
Chris Brown's Mt. Rushmore is a different take. Aside from having six heads on the monument, one of his influences piqued the interest of others.
Jay-Z, Nas, Notorious B.I.G., Nas, and 2Pac were the most common rappers on everyone's Mt. Rushmore. However, it was Big L's inclusion that was quite uncommon.
Big L was about to blow up on the music and hip-hop scene when he was tragically shot in 1999.
Chris Brown's New Album 'Breezy' Flopped?
For Chris Brown, his newest album release Breezy did not meet the expectations he had set in place initially.
He predicted the album would perform well, just like his previous ones - debuting within the Top 3 of the Billboard 200 chart and massive reception from his loyal fans.
However, this is not the case. Breezy only opened to 84,000 equivalent album sales and ranked No. 4 on the all-genres album chart last week.
Per HiphopDX, Chris Brown dismissed the sales of Breezy as a "lack of support" even though he is doing particularly well despite being in a lot of controversies over the years.
