Britney Spears' estranged father, Jamie Spears, has been ordered by a judge to face deposition and surrender surveillance records he allegedly took to track the pop star.

In a stunning turn of events for Britney Spears' legal camp, the team might be scoring a huge advantage should the singer's father face the highly-awaited deposition.

Jamie Spears Face Deposition, Produce Surveillance Records

Judge Brenda Penny ordered Jamie Spears, Britney Spears' father, to face deposition and produce surveillance records and all pertinent documents her daughter's team needs.

Advantage-wise, this gives Britney's team a huge one.

Since the judge ordered a deposition, there is reason to further inquire about the allegations thrown at Jamie for hiring a security team to keep tabs on her daughter during her grueling conservatorship.

Aside from hiring a security firm, Britney Spears' also alleged that her father had been monitoring her phone and bugged her bedroom to record her own private conversations and affairs.

Before the huge victory on Britney's team - Jamie's head attorney, Alex Weingarten, implored Judge Penny to grant access his team access to the opposing team's documents to prepare for their deposition.

Weingarten and Rosengart, Britney's head lawyer, embarked on a heated argument at the Los Angeles Superior Courthouse recently before Judge Penny ruled the decision, Variety learned.

Britney Spears has been in a long-standing legal battle with her now-estranged father, Jamie Spears since the termination of her conservatorship last year, which she believed to have been carefully thought out by his father to milk her financially.

Britney Spears Conservatorship Case Update

The deposition and request for surveillance documents were one of the biggest blows against Jamie Spears recently.

But weeks before that, Britney Spears' legal team also found out that the "Hit Me Baby One More Time" hitmaker's former business manager, Tri Star Sports and Entertainment, has played a "substantial role" in the creation of her controversial conservatorship.

In the documents that The Hollywood Reporter obtained, it reveals communications allegedly sent between Tri Star execs and Jamie Spears about the establishment of Britney Spears conservatorship.

"Mr. Spears and Tri Star obtained more than $6 million and $18 million, respectively, from Ms. Spears's Estate," the filing asserts.

Judge Brenda Penny ordered Jamie Spears to be deposed within the next 30 days in Los Angeles.
