The Kinks have been in the industry for decades, and they're celebrating "Muswell Hillbillies" and "Everybody's In Show-Biz's" 50th anniversary by releasing a one-of-a-kind box set as a treat for their loyal fans.
According to NME, the group's 10th album was released in 1971, and it became a significant moment for them as they signed a deal with RCA that launched them into international stardom and garnered more fans in the United States.
The following record, "Everybody's In Show-Biz," was also important for the band because it tackles their journey across America.
Lead singer Ray Davies issued a statement regarding the anniversary, saying he'll bring "some of the old wild western spirit" into his music as he struck a deal with a new record company and has a new image.
His brother, Dave Davies, noted that "Muswell Hillbillies" is one of his favorite albums of all time because it's a backstory of their family and how they evolved through the years.
The upcoming deluxe bundle boxes include rare memorabilia including "Muswell Hillbillies" and "Everybody's In Show-Biz" deluxe 2LP remastered from Ray's original master tapes and color vinyl.
They will also release a new 11-track remixed black vinyl with new artwork; a Blue-Ray digitally restored home movie narrated by the singer and 4 CDs that include the original albums with their original artworks.
In addition, a US Tour Travel Montage will also be included that features new track remixes and one unreleased song.
In other items that aren't music-related, fans could get a glimpse of the band's journey through the years in the deluxe hardback book that features 52 pages of interview quotes and rare photos.
Other merchandise in the box is listed below:
- "London Roots" map printed on uncoated sepia paper stock.
- Six printed photos from 1971 to 1972.
- The Kinks rare metal and enamel badge.
- Insert.
- Exclusive 7" CD.

The Kink's box set will contain live recordings from their show at the Carnegie Hall in New York City.
The group disbanded in 1997 after tension between Ray and Dave. Their last performance was in 1996.
Dave recently spoke to The Independent, saying he's hopeful for the band to reunite again after decades to celebrate the 60th anniversary of "You Really Got Me" in 2024.
The rare deluxe box set is available for pre-order via their official online store. All items will be released on September 9.
