Nicole Scherzinger is suing founder Robin Antin for alleged breach of contract and fraud which resulted in the official cancellation of the highly-anticipated Pussycat Dolls Reunion Tour.
Last year, the girl group has made their avid fans happy after announcing a comeback Pussycat Dolls concert tour.
However, in January fans were gutted after Nicole Scherzinger announced that the concert would not push through anymore.
Pussycat Dolls Founder Rob Antin Sued For Breach of Contract, Fraud
According to Rolling Stone, Pussycat Dolls star Nicole Scherzinger is launching a massive cross-complaint against their group founder Robin Antin.
Based on the documents exclusively obtained by the outlet, the former "X-Factor" judge is seeking charges for "punitive damages, court fees and further relief."
The complaint reveals that the true reason behind the Pussycat Dolls Reunion Tour cancellation is Rob Antin, and not the "ever-evolving circumstances surrounding the pandemic" Scherzinger said at the time.
Furthermore, the lawsuit claims that Antin "breached" her duties and obligations to the band leader and eventually damaged the group's goodwill.
It was made apparent in the filing that Pussycat Dolls Reunion Tour was canceled because Antin wasted the funding for the planned tour.
Aside from allegedly breaching her obligations, it was found out that Antin had accepted the advances from Live Nation, the PCD concert promoter, which prompted Scherzinger to use her own personal finances to fund the band's pomo appearances and their new single.
"Antin's mismanagement and self-dealing had so damaged PCD that a reunion tour on the terms Antin was demanding was not commercially feasible and could not be profitable for Antin, Scherzinger, or the other members of PCD," the filing states.
Meanwhile, Antin's lawyer "vehemently denies" the allegations thrown at his client, describing that the complaint was "desperation" on Scherzinger's part. In a statement, Richard Busch, Antin's counsel, seemed confident that the manager's camp will prevail on trial.
On the other hand, Nicole Scherzinger's camp has yet to comment on their recent filing.
Pussycat Dolls Reunion Tour Cancellation Reason 'Different' Before
Around January 2022, when news about the cancellation of the Pussycat Dolls Reunion Tour emerged, Nicole Scherzinger announced that it was the "ever-evolving circumstances surrounding the pandemic" that caused the reunion tour to be canceled.
In a now-deleted joint Instagram statement from former Pussycat Dolls member Carmit Bachar and Jessica Sutta, were "incredibly disappointed" to have found out about the cancellation on Nicole's Instagram account and not from their manager.
Turns out the real reason for the sudden announcement is Robin Antin's breach of contract, and alleged mismanagement.
