David Muse, a long-time multi-instrumentalist of the band Firefall, died. He was 73.

Firefall and its fans were left shocked after Muse passed away. The official statement on Facebook disclosed that the musician died at his home on Saturday morning with his wife, Patty, by his side.

"While we are heartbroken, we take solace in the knowledge that he is no longer in pain. His love and wonderful memories will stay with us forever and he will never be forgotten. The family plans to arrange a celebration of life ceremony in the coming months. We invite anyone who would like to share in this event to attend. We will post details as soon as they are available," the band announced.

The same post disclosed that David Muse's cause of death was due to cancer. It remains unknown what type of cancer he suffered from. But it was revealed that he was diagnosed with cancer in 2020.

Meanwhile, Firefall shared a GoFundMe page to help Muse's family with his medical bills when he was still alive. The amount will now be used to settle the remaining hospital bills and cover his funeral expenses.

One said, "Just Remember...We Love Him. God bless all of Dave's family, friends, band mates and loyal followers. Patti especially. That's a lifelong love and my heart is breaking for her. What a warrior he was! Carry on, Brothers. Thank you for all those years of music with Dave."

"Bless his wife, family, friends and fans. The band in the great beyond just received another [dove of peace emoji] thank you for the sweet music Dave," another wrote.

David Muse's Journey With Firefall

Before his career with Firefall started, Muse initially performed with different bands before making it to Firefall's lineup in 1975. He joined Rick Roberts (guitar, lead vocals), Larry Burnett (guitar, vocals), Jock Bartley (guitar, vocals), Mark Andes (bass), and Michael Clarke (drums) at that time.

Muse recorded songs with the band by playing flute, sax, and keyboard parts in Firefall's 1970s and 1980s tracks. Its 1976 self-titled debut album was certified platinum and led to the success of "You Are the Woman."

Overall, he appeared on more than 25 albums of different musicians throughout his five-decade career. In 2014, he and Firefall members were inducted into the Colorado Music Hall of Fame.
