Gord Lewis was found dead in his Hamilton, Canada apartment.
According to police, the co-founder and guitarist of Teenage Head are being investigated for homicide.
The Toronto Sta rreported that Detective Sergeant Sara Beck of the homicide squad discovered the corpse of a man in his 60s with injuries "consistent with foul play."
"An identification of the body has not been achieved owing to the extent of decay," she explained.
An autopsy will be performed, and other procedures will be made to identify him.
According to the complaint, cops discovered the deceased person during a wellness check after receiving a 911 call from a staff member.
Who Killed Gord Lewis?
According to authorities, Gord Lewis' son Jonathan, 41, was charged with second-degree murder in the case.
Beck has previously stated that they are not looking for any further suspects.
However, the specifics and motivation for Gord Lewis' murder have yet to be disclosed.
According to the detective's statement, media members began receiving suspicious messages from two email accounts linked to Jonathan at 8 p.m. on Aug. 7 and continued through Sunday morning.
According to one email received on Sunday per The Spectator, "Funeral workers must arrive quickly. My father's health is deteriorating."
A prior note alluded to the sender's "Now I want to obtain assistance for my condition and offer my father a befitting funeral," it said. "He did not deserve it."
Gord Lewis Tribute
Teenage Head, the band Gord Lewis co-founded, paid homage to him, stating they are sad and are still processing his death as a "friend, bandmate, and brother."
"Our hearts go out to his family and everyone who knew and loved him. Gord was a driving force and an inspiration to many people. You were stolen way too soon from us."
Gord's brother Brian hailed the late musician as "kind, creative, musically inspired, loving and loyal" in a statement to CBS "Hamilton" on Monday.
Teenage Head, a punk rock band, formed in 1975 when its members were still in high school: Frankie Venom, Steve Mahon, Nick Stipanitz, and Gord.
The band was well known for their hits "Let's Shake" and "Some Kinda Fun."
They were even included in the band documentary "Picture My Face: The Story of Teenage Head."
Frankie died in 2008 following an unsuccessful fight with throat cancer, and Nick finally departed the legendary band.
