Tupac was one of the rare musicians that didn't mind saying what he thought, whether it was scandalous or not.
During the renowned rapper's brief but highly successful career, he brushed elbows with fellow top musicians, even working with Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre.
Tupac reportedly declined to collaborate with Michael Jackson on songs.
There was even a point when they were said to be working on a song together, but Tupac apparently rejected.
Why Did Tupac Refuse To Work With Michael Jackson?
Tupac had a prearranged session with the King of Pop, according to Outlawz's Napoleon, who was pals with Tupac.
In an interview with Cam Capone (via HipHop DX), Napoleon revealed, "' Pac mentioned one time he was called to the studio to do a song for Michael Jackson, to lay a verse."
"He told his mother, his family, he was excited. He went to the studio, and he's like, 'Where's Michael Jackson?'"
However, the "Thriller" hitmaker was apparently running late and chose not to come up at the last minute.
That moment reportedly left a bad impression on Tupac, with Napoleon claiming, "They said, 'Oh he can't come. They want you to lay the verse.'"
"He got up and left. And that's Michael Jackson. He wasn't brave enough to come to say hi to me and speak to me. I don't want to get on his song.'"
Tupac supposedly believed that what Michael Jackson did was highly unprofessional and disrespectful, regardless of how huge Michael Jackson's celebrity power was at the time.
In reality, the "Ambitionz az a Ridah" artist apparently passed up the opportunity because he was more concerned about morality and ethics.
"Like we look up to you. 'If you want me to be on the song, at least say hi to me.' I don't think 'Pac was just doing stuff for money," he added.
"It was more personal if he gets on a record with you and stuff like that. He didn't really care about the money."
Tupac and Janet Jackson
Tupac was not the only one that had issues with Michael Jackson.
He played Janet Jackson's love interest in the 1993 romance drama "Poetic Justice."
Tupac said they had tremendous chemistry and eventually became friends, but he was angered when Janet's staff allegedly demanded him to undergo an AIDS test for a love scene.
"I'll take four AIDS tests if I can make love with Janet Jackson," he declared at the time.
However, according to filmmaker John Singleton, the AIDS test tale was a publicity gimmickand did not actually occur.
