After canceling his "Wonder: The World Tour" due to mental health reasons in July, Shawn Mendes is "taking it easy."
He postponed three weeks' worth of North American shows and noted in a statement posted on social media, "After a few years off the road, I felt like was ready to dive back in, but that decision was premature, and unfortunately, the toll of the road and the pressure has caught up to me, and I've hit a breaking point."
"[...] It has become more clear that I need to take the time I've never taken personally, to ground myself and come back stronger."
Mendes shared that he consulted his team and health professionals, and they recommended that he take some time off, "As soon as there are more updates, I promise I will let you know."
Fans were quick to support the "Stitches" singer following the news of the cancellation of his tour, tweeting "You take care of you first and foremost."

Shawn's Road to Recovery
The "Mercy" singer had a little chat with TMZ at LAX (Los Angeles International Airport), and he revealed that he is dealing with his illness by undergoing therapy to recover from it.
"I'm taking a lot of time just doing therapy, just taking it easy," he said.
Additionally, he shared that he has been up to things he has not been able to do in years since his rise to fame as a teenager, "I think for me it's just about spending time doing things that I haven't really done over the last few years, and so having dinner with friends and stuff."
Before the cancellation of the Ontario singer's world tour, he was able to perform seven shows. The tour was set to have another 47 shows for the North American leg and 32 days in UK and Europe from May to August 2021.
