Paul McCartney suffered a devastating loss as one of his closest pals passed away and he shared a heartwarming tribute on social media.
Taking to his official Instagram account, the former Beatles member revealed that his brother-in-law, John Eastman, died. He never revealed his cause of death.
In a lengthy caption, the musician paid tribute to his good friend by saying they've known each other for over five decades and it's "an extremely sad time" for him and their families.
In addition, he noted that Eastman was one of the nicest people he met throughout his life and he's lucky to have crossed paths with him.
Aside from being his brother-in-law, the two had a professional relationship as Eastman worked for him as a lawyer and McCartney noted that he helped him in his career.
"Not only did he help me massively in my business dealings as my lawyer but as a friend he was hard to beat," he added.
Throughout their friendship, the musician explained that they had many fun times together, but his good pal was "unbeatable" whenever he starts getting serious.
"There is so much more that can be said of his incredible qualities, but words can hardly describe his passion for life and our affection for this amazing man," he wrote.
The singer concluded his post by writing, "He will be sorely missed by always held dear in the hearts of those of us who knew and loved him."
How Did Paul McCartney, John Eastman Meet?
According to People Magazine, the two good pals became friends after McCartney married Eastman's sister Linda, who passed away more than two decades ago from breast cancer.
The lawyer and his father represented Paul McCartney when the Beatles disbanded and they continued working with him throughout his solo career.
Paul McCartney's Other Loss
In 1998, the musician's wife Linda Eastman passed away after suffering from breast cancer for over three years.
His wife's death left him devastated and even mourned his loss for over a year. Aside from his significant other, his mom also died of breast cancer.
The two got married in 1969 and formed a band called Wings after The Beatles broke up.
McCartney has married other women since. He tied the knot with Heather Mills in 2002 but got divorced in 2008. He also married Nancy Shevell in 2011.
