ASAP Relli seemed to be happy that the judge and authorities' decisions were in favor of him on the alleged shooting case of rap superstar ASAP Rocky.
Earlier this week, ASAP Rocky has been officially charged with two counts of assault following a November 2021 shooting that took place in Hollywood.
The two's friendship, which was reported tightly knit since high school, is spiraling down because of the high-profile assault case.
ASAP Rocky 'Happy' With Bestfriend's Assault Charges?
TMZ learned that following the official charges being served to ASAP Rocky earlier this week, ASAP Relli felt "vindicated" that the justice system worked has worked for him.
His lawyer, Jamal Tooson, said in a statement to TMZ that ASAP Relli, the alleged shooting victim on ASAP Rocky's case, "couldn't be happier," despite his close friend's current status.
Tooson also claims that although his client, ASAP Relli was not hit with the bullet that ASAP Rocky allegedly fired at him, he "came within inches of death," and the traumatic experience has had a "profound psychological impact" on the music producer.
With Rocky's current status in Hollywood and in the music industry, Relli initially felt lowly that the complaint and the lawsuit will be dismissed and he would be "drummed out of business." He also says that if he pushed for the case, it would be diminished only to be a "money grab."
Now, Relli felt that the justice system has been "restored" because his complaint was supported by the authorities, leading them to file 2 felony charges against his then-best friend.
ASAP Rocky Facing Jail Time if Proven Guilty of Assault Case
According to Rolling Stone, ASAP Rocky has been charged with two counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, including allegations of personally using a firearm.
"Discharging a gun in a public place is a serious offense that could have ended with tragic consequences not only for the person targeted but also for innocent bystanders visiting Hollywood," Los Angeles County District Attorney Gascón pointed out.
Should he be proven guilty, ASAP Rocky could be facing a minimum of 3 years to a maximum of 9 years in prison, apart from a possible hefty fine since he is using a semiautomatic firearm.
The reason for the violent encounter is still a blur now, but accounts say that Rocky "lured" Relli to a shady spot in Hollywood to discuss a misunderstanding that turned into a shootout.
