Harry Styles was recently interviewed by Rolling Stone and addressed one of the allegations leveled against him.
The "As It Was" singer responds to people who accuse him of "queerbaiting."
He told the publication that the claims that he makes money by perceiving queer aesthetics without identifying with the community, "Sometimes people say, 'You've only publicly been with women,' and I don't think I've publicly been with anyone."
"Just because someone snaps a photo of you with someone doesn't imply you want to have a public relationship or whatever."
However, fans are divided on whether the 28-year-old former One Direction star is being himself by dressing how he wants, as Mick Jagger and David Bowie did before him, or if he is queerbaiting.
"Harry styles say he hasn't openly been with someone when publicly he has only been with famous and non-famous women, because he can't answer the question about queerbaiting is pure disrespect towards those ladies... but you don't are you ready for this topic," one user remarked on Twitter.
"Queerbaiting is only for fictional characters," another Twitter user stated. "That is, after all, the point. This 'Harry Styles is queer' persona is fictitious, and he avoids answering questions about anything real. You don't have to speak over his own words since he can't even say 'I'm gay.'"
"Harry Styles could answer yes or no to whether he's gay or claims he's unlabeled, but he's always hazy to keep benefiting off his LGBTQ supporters' back," a third person concurred. "Queerbaiting is exactly what it is."
"Non-labeling their sexuality is the new way for straight men like Harry Styles to get away with queerbait and avoid the straight white man privilege backlash," a fourth person said.

However, several fans backed Harry Styles, stating that people should stop thinking that every "flamboyant man with amazing flair and who looks after himself is gay."
"His sexuality is his business, not anyone else's," another argued. If any of you are going to accuse Harry Styles of "queerbaiting," you should also accuse Britney and Madonna of queerbaiting during the VMAs.
Harry Styles, who has kept his romantic life private, has admitted that specifying his sexuality was "outdated."
In an April interview with Better Homes and Gardens, Harry stated that he has been upfront with his pals and that it is his experience.
"The entire idea of where we should be moving in terms of welcoming everyone and being more open is that it doesn't matter, and it's about not having to label everything, about not having to specify what boxes you're checking."
