Earlier this week, DJ Khaled teased fans about his upcoming album "God Did" by posting the album's cover art on Instagram.
It shows the the46-year-old rapper looking up and shedding a tear. Khaled explained the meaning behind the cover art in the caption: "The tear represents tears of joy from God's blessings. God, I love [you] so much. I'm grateful for anything and everything."
Behind The Scenes
Khaled enlisted the help of Lougè Delcy for the album's cover art. With such a sincere and personal message to convey, Khaled also had the help of Vory to get his message across.
But among all of his collaborators, one stands out. DJ Khaled revealed in an interview with Billboard that he had Jay-Z choose the cover art for him.
"I am the biggest JAY-Z fan, and I actually let him pick my album cover," the "Staying Alive" producer said. "I always give him like two cover options and see which one he would pick, and I did it again on this album."
He added that not only did Jay-Z choose his cover art, but he also commended Khaled on his work saying, "yo this is your best album." A giddy Khaled expressed his excitement and thanks by adding "Jay-Z, I love you, and you know that."
Star-Studded Collabs
The "Every Chance I Get" producer's thirteenth album boasts a star-studded tracklist. He released the tracklist via Twitter and Instagram, captioning it, "The holy scripture. This is a gift to the world. This is a gift to the fans. This is a gift for us. God Did."
Along with the tracklist is the list of "those that believed," or his collaborators for the album.
The album comprises 18 songs. "No Secret" featuring Drake sets the tone for the album. "God Did," the title track, saw Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, John Legend, and Fridayy together.
The third track is one to anticipate, "Use This Gospel" is a remix produced by Dr. Dre and The ICU, featuring Kanye West and Eminem. The chart-topping single "Staying Alive" with Drake and Lil Baby is the seventh track on the album.
The highly anticipated album is set to be released on Aug. 26, 2022- about 11 years since he released his fifth studio album, "We the Best Forever," which catapulted him to international fame.
