Demi Lovato has not ruled out the possibility of recording a rock cover of "Cool for the Summer."

The pop song was well-loved when it launched and even so when it became a popular TikTok tune to dance to. But another version should be more than welcomed.

The 30-year-old actress has just released her heavy rock album "HOLY FVCK," and she has revealed she would be open to re-recording her 2015 pop smash "Confident" in the manner of the new genre she's in love with.

She stated in a new edition of ELLE's "Song Association" series that fans might never know what she may do in the future. This means fans should certainly look out.

Lovato stated upon the album's release that recording it offered her the "freedom to express" herself "in ways I never thought possible." She added that the whole process was "cathartic and exciting." She said that she felt she was able to regain the artist she actually is on her follow-up to 2021's "Dancing with the Devil... the Art of Starting Over."

In a typed message to fans on Twitter, she added, "HOLY FVCK gave me the freedom to express myself in ways I didn't know were possible and find joy I'd been missing when making music. It's cathartic and grounded, but also exciting and a ton of fun."

She continued, "I don't know where I'll be in a year, five years, or ten years, but I do know that this record is precisely where I am right now, and I am damn proud of it. I hope so for everyone who listens."

The singer however, stated in a recent interview that she had no immediate plans to revisit the preceding album because while she enjoyed doing the record and was proud of it, she feels as if there was not much of her in it.

There was a great deal of honesty in the lyrics, she said. However, she already outgrown it. She no longer likes to perform and listen to such but this does not mean she no longer likes what she did.

Lovato acknowledged she formerly pursued radio singles and lost sight of who she is as an artist.

The "29" singer was "miserable" when performing the songs live and loathed wearing leotards and heels since they were not her style.

She stated in a different conversation that she began my first two albums, she felt that her instincts were correct and that she was creating the music that I adored. However, she felt herself wandering from her instincts because she wanted to drop songs that can be played over the radio as well. She said that as a result of not doing what she truly wanted in favor of doing something she also like (relatively), which is to release music that can be mainstream, she lost her identity as an artist... and it didn't reflect who she was on the inside.

This conundrum also reflects on how she dressed and behaved. She's done with such dilemma.
