Musicians and singers, especially in the 70s and 80s, have been upfront about their drug and alcohol intake while on tour and commonly during recording sessions to boost their creative juices.
Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne recently revealed his particular turning point in his career to stop lacing his body with acid, which is equally a hilarious, weird, and shocking encounter altogether.
Ozzy Osbourne came after a worrying health scare after contracting COVID-19 and a major surgery for Parkinson's disease, which prompted him to postpone the band's concert indefinitely.
Ozzy Osbourne Stopped Taking Acids After THIS Encounter
Per a Classic Rock interview for "Vol. 4's" 50th anniversary, frontman Ozzy Osbourne recalls a particular point in his life when he finally gave up taking the acid.
In his nostalgic recollection, Ozzy revealed that when the band lived at a single house in Los Angeles to rehearse and record the album, they did "loads of drugs" then.
Osbourne, who was 24 at the time, was carefree and was used to drinking acid-laced beverages and swallowing a handful of tablets at the time.
"I ended up standing there talking to this horse for about an hour. In the end the horse turned round and told me to fuck off. That was it for me," Ozzy hilariously told the publication after revealing he had taken 10 tabs of acid before.
Describing it as one of the good times, it was Ozzy's turning point in his life to ditch the acid and start switching to a healthier life.
In 2019, the heavy metal vocalist confessed that he has been sober for quite a long time.
"I don't drink alcohol anymore. I don't smoke tobacco. I don't use drugs. I'm doing good right now," he said in a statement to Pasadena Star News.
Ozzy Osbourne Health Timeline
Very recently, Ozzy Osbourne and his family suffered a major health scare because of his health condition.
Last June, the 73-year-old musician underwent major surgery to correct and repair the pins that were already in his back and neck after suffering a huge injury in 2003 from an ATV accident.
In April, he contracted the COVID-19 virus, which was a great medical threat for individuals, especially with his age and pre-existing medical conditions.
Earlier this week, Ozzy was snapped with his wife Sharon in Hawaii, celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary.
