The Texas production behind the massive controversial "Scamilton" finally responded to the backlash they received after the unauthorized production of the hit musical.

In an apology letter posted on their Instagram account, the Door McAllen Chuch in McAllen, Texas, acknowledged the faults that the production has made.

Since the clips of "Scamilton" went viral online, Lin Manuel Miranda has publicly denounced the production, noting that lawyers have already started working to take down the show.

'Scamilton' Church in Texas Responds to 'Hamilton' Backlash

In an Instagram photo posted earlier this week, the Door Christian Fellowship McAllen Church finally broke its silence amid the immense heat they received because of the unauthorized production of the Tony-winning musical "Hamilton."

"The Door Christian Fellowship McAllen Church did not ask for, or receive, a license from the producers or creators of Hamilton to produce, stage, replicate, or alter any part of Hamilton; nor did we seek prior permission to alter Lin Manuel Miranda's work by changing the music, the lyrics, deleting songs, and adding dialogue," the statement reads.

The Texas church acknowledged their failure in obtaining the licenses in lawful avenues to produce the hit musical in their area. Furthermore, the church vows never to stage the performance again and shall destroy any video or sound recordings and images of the performance and even rehearsals.

Per the McAllen church pastor who penned the apology letter, they will also be paying the damages for their actions.

The church's move came days after "Hamilton" creator Lin Manuel Miranda publicly announced that the show's legal team was pursuing legal action already.

Interestingly, this was not the church's stance last August 7.

In a viral video on Twitter, Door McAllen Church Pastor Roman Gutierrez thanked the "Hamilton" team for granting them rights to produce what Lin Manuel Miranda described as an "illegal, unauthorized" production.

According to Law & Crime, a spokesperson from "Hamilton" revealed that the show will direct the damages that the Door Christian Fellowship McAllen Church will pay to the South Texas Equality Project (STEP) for their projects.

Fans of the musical were fuming on "Scamilton" after the church interjected religion in the show, especially after a video of the church's pastor giving a sermon containing anti-LGBTQ messages surfaced online.

Aside from this, the church censored numerous musical numbers and altered lyrics, further censoring the poignant message that the show was known for.
