Christian gospel singer Amy Grant took to Instagram to thank fans for supportive comments following her bicycle accident in July.

"I want to say thank you to everyone who has written me a note, sent flowers or gifts, or said a prayer on my behalf,"

"I'm one month into a recovery that has held so many unexpected hidden gifts," she wrote.

In August, she postponed her tour to focus on her recovery, and the multi-awarded singer's road to recovery has been a slow but steady one.

"On the advice of my doctors and other friends who have been through similar experiences of recovery, I am choosing to give myself the gift of a very simple fall season."

The concussion she sustained from the accident, however, did not stop her from continuing with music.

"I look forward to making music with Michael W. [Smith] and Vince during the Christmas season," she wrote in her Instagram post caption.

The Vince she is referring to here is her husband, Vince Grant. Following her accident, he wrote and performed a song for him entitled "When My Amy Prays." He performed it with their daughter Corinna, who changed the lyrics to "when my mama prays."

"We haven't been doing it much, but because of her accident and everything she's been going through we've been thinkin' a lot about her," he shared.

It was reported that Grant was rushed to the hospital following a bicycle accident that left her unconscious for 10 minutes with a concussion.

The 61-year-old singer was cycling in Percy Warner Park in Nashville when the incident occurred. It was noted that she was wearing a helmet, yet sustained several cuts and bruises.

Despite this, Grant managed to pull through; "Amy is getting stronger every day. Just as she did after her heart surgery, we are amazed at how fast she heals," said Jennifer Cooke, her manager in a statement succeeding the accident.

She also announced that Grant's tour was rescheduled, which was supposedly slated for September to October, from February to April the following year.

Dubbed "The Queen of Christian Pop," Grant has sold over 30 million albums worldwide. She is also a recipient of six Grammy Awards and 22 Gospel Music Association Dove Awards.

She began her music career in 1976 with her self-written song "Mountain Top." She was offered a recording contract a few days shy of turning 16.

Grant released her debut album, "Amy Grant," the following year, and has not ceased to make music since then.
