Katy Perry is about to enter a new era in her music career with a new album on the way.
Serving for five seasons already as a judge on "American Idol," Katy Perry has hinted at her return to making music - something that she was famously known for.
In a recent interview on "The Drew Barrymore" Show, Katy brought the "50 First Dates" actress turned television host to her Las Vegas Residency set in Sin City.
"Play," the Katy Perry Las Vegas Residency, is back at The Theatre at Resorts World Las Vegas due to popular demand.
During the interview, the "The One That Got Away" hitmaker toured Drew on her eye-popping colorful set that she uses for her sold-out concert performances.
Obviously gushing over Katy Perry during the interview, the topic of the conversation between the popstar and Drew Barrymore streamed to Katy's off-stage and onstage person.
According to Billboard, Katy went on to reveal that there is an onstage persona that she portrays while performing. She even reiterated her love for "Play," her Las Vegas Residency, noting that it is her favorite show as it brought her the most joy so far.
On the other hand, she likened herself to a businesswoman when she is offstage - an observer and someone who saves a lot of her energy for herself.
The conversation got more interesting when Katy revealed her intentions of making a new album soon.
"I'll probably go and make another record soon and write it and tour the world after this, which will be so great," she said during the interview.
"Play" might not be her last Las Vegas Residency as she has also opened up to the possibility of touring and hitting the road soon after an album is released.
According to Katy, she has the songs to put up a grand spectacle for people aged up to 80 years old could surely enjoy.
"Those songs have taken me everywhere around the world, and I've toured the world three times over. So I know I need to go back because the world constantly changes, and there are new fans every day," she furthered.
Katy Perry's new album would be her seventh so far. Her last album, "Smile" was released in 2020 but peaked only at No. 40 on the Billboard 200 charts. The album's lead single, "Never Really Over" reached a little higher at No. 15.
