PnB Rock was shot and killed on Monday, and the perpetrator has yet to be apprehended.
An unknown guy demanded jewelry and other items before battling with the artist and firing fire on the 30-year-old musician, whose actual name is Rakim Hasheem Allen.
According to the Los Angeles Times, authorities have already devised a strategy to catch the assailant of the "Gang Up" rapper.
Detectives allegedly believe that jewelry and other valuables seized from PnB Rock may hold the key to identifying the offender, and they have already alerted pawn shops about items stolen during the audacious heist in the hopes that they may assist in identifying the perpetrator.
According to LAPD Chief Michel Moore, the incident occurred after the rapper's location was made public online, and detectives are presently investigating if this was the catalyst for the crime.
They said that crimes involving social media are uncommon. Moore is apparently concerned about the abundance of weapons on the streets, which are being used by criminals who target victims for high-end jewels.
Authorities also stated that they do not know which route the getaway car took after departing the scene, and no description of the suspect vehicle has been published.
Investigators are also combing through video footage and interviewing with PnB's girlfriend, according to Moore.
PnB Rock was with his girlfriend at Roscoe's House of Chicken and Waffles in South Los Angeles, where she shared a location-tagged image in a now-deleted Instagram post.
"From what I gather, the girlfriend is completely working with us and has discussed with the detectives the circumstances leading up to this awful murder as well as the aftermath."
The incident has sparked debate about the perils of celebrities posting about their locations and fancy belongings on social media in real time.
In reality, the Los Angeles Times reported in 2020 that the location of rapper Pop Smoke, real name Bashar Jackson, was labeled with a Hollywood Hills address, which culminated in him fatally shooting him.
According to security expert Louis Perry, who talked to Fox 11 on Tuesday, everyone, not just celebrities, should be conscious of their surroundings and what they wear.
According to Louis Perry, individuals should not wear the jewelry outside the house since "there are a lot of strange people out there."
He went on to say that the gunmen don't only target rappers, but everyone with money.
