Drake fans are fuming earlier today as Champagne Papi made it clear that he is not taking any crap from anyone today, especially from a relatively unknown music critic.
In an Instagram story posted hours ago, Drake shared to his 119 million followers on the photo-sharing app his conversation with Anthony Fantano.
"Your existence is a light 1. And the 1 is cause you are alive. And cause you somehow wifed a black girl. I'm feeling a light to decent 1 on your existence," Drake told Fanton via direct message on Instagram.
Drake provided no further explanation on the story, posting just the screenshot alone. However, according to Variety, Drake's big move to call out the critic publicly is warranted.
It would seem like the "Laugh Now, Cry Later" hitmaker was baited to have that kind of outburst on social media.
Apparently, the move comes after Anthony Fantano posted a video on his YouTube account, saying that Drake has slid into his Instagram DMs.
In the video, Fantano showed "elaborately fabricated" messages from the rapper, asking him about recipes for vegan cookies.
Heading back to Drake's screenshot of his conversation with Fantano, the "messages" was nowhere to be found - a clear indication that Drake clarified he did not make those messages initially.
Shortly after Drake posted it, Anthony Fanto went to Instagram Live, laughing over how Drake was triggered by the video he had published.
"Why is Drake messaging me? I'm not 18 years of age. That's kinda weird... This man is familiar enough with me to know my rating system, which is kind of odd. Seems a little obsessed," Fantano said on his Instagram Live.
The YouTube vlogger also revealed that he has left the superstar on reading like all other "thirsty b--ches" on his DMs. He also alluded that Drake should have had his "ghost writers" insult him on the DM.
Confused at the same time, Fantano was surprised as to how he, someone who got less than a million followers, managed to go under Drake's skin like that.
Last June, Anthony Fantano reviewed Drake's "Honestly, Nevermind" a "Not Good" out of 10. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 charts, opening at 204,000 album equivalent units.
