Doja Cat has been teasing her next album for quite a while already. Very recently, the pop star shocked everyone when she said that her new album would be a "german rave culture album."

In a stunning turn of events, it would seem like Doja Cat had allegedly faked that interview, revealing in a series of tweets, that it was actually an R&B album after all.

Doja Cat New Album True Genre Revealed

Doja Cat has become quite an unpredictable artist in the past few weeks. From strangely beefing with Noah Schnapp to lashing out about her shaved hair, it seemed like she finally pulled the biggest prank on her fans yet.

In an excerpt from ELLE Magazine earlier this year, the "Kiss Me More" hitmaker hinted that her next album would be "predominantly rap."

But that statement did not come to last, as she told CR Fashion Week that her album would actually have a "'90s German rave kind of vibe."

Now, in a flurry of posts on her Twitter account, Doja confesses that she was actually pranking the Fashion publication about the german genre. She went on to detail that her next album would be an R&B album, with no rap songs at all.

According to UPROXX, pranking a journalist is straight up something on Doja Cat's wheelhouse. But her recent unpredictability poses an even bigger question, how does this guarantee that she really would be producing an R&B and no rap album after all?

But despite that case, Doja Cat is generating a buzz on her next album, leading up to the anticipation of her release. It is not known when would Doja release it, but so far, she has not indicated if she has yet to start it or if the record is already done.

Doja Cat 'Planet Her' Questioned Its R&B Genre Qualification

Earlier this year, Summer Walker's boyfriend LVRD Pharoah, questioned the Billboard Music Awards 2022 after it awarded the Best R&B Album to Doja Cat's Planet Her, rather than her boo Summer Walker's "Still Over It."

Pharoah, in an Instagram post, asked Billboard to explain how come a pop artist, Doja Cat, managed to win in two R&B categories. He also went to argue how come "Still Over It" was denied any wins if it topped Beyonce's "Lemonade" album twice.

Despite being nominated on three BBMAs that night, Summer Walker remained empty-handed, Doja Cat managed to win all three nominations that Walker has been nominated on.
