The 1975 keeps on showering fans with surprises ahead of the release of their upcoming album "Being Funny In A Foreign Language" as they recently dropped yet another single but this time, it sounds different than their previous releases.
The Manchester-based group released a song titled "All I Need To Hear," a soulful ballad track that is significantly different from their two previous upbeat singles "Happiness" and "I'm In Love With You."
In an interview with Apple Music 1, frontman Matty Healy revealed that most of his songs require him to perform them by himself. However, he won't mind if Joe Crocker or Adele belt out their own renditions of the track because it suits their voices. (via iHeart)
"It feels like one of those songs where it's like I've stepped out of the Matty-ness of everything," he added. (via NME)
This was not the first time fans heard the song as Healy previously performed its live version during Phoebe Bridgers' concert in Los Angeles, California, last year.
The latest track was accompanied by an intimate black-and-white music video where members Healy, George Daniel, Adam Hann, and Ross MacDonald, can be seen wearing formal clothing while performing in a recording house.
What to Expect on 'Being Funny In A Foreign Language'?
In an interview with Pitchfork, the frontman said he took a different approach when he was creating the album along with his bandmates and producer Jack Antonoff, who won several Grammys in the past and collaborated with big stars like Taylor Swift.
He told the outlet that he's conditioned to know that he's going to mess something up so he tries to embody anything that would make him "truly vulnerable with an acknowledgement that it may be temporary."
Their upcoming album is the follow-up to their 2020 record "Notes On A Conditional Form."
"BFIAFL" is their shortest project among their discographies as they're popularly known for releasing lengthy tracklists like "A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships" that had 15 songs and "NOACF" with 22.
