Ciara enlisted the help of Summer Walker for a new "feel-good record" that gives off late-summer vibes entitled "Better Thangs," released Sept. 30.
Last July, Ciara dropped "Jump," and now she is back with a new single that picked up where the last single left off. "Better Thangs" is the second single off her eighth studio album, which is on its way.
The 36-year-old singer told Billboard what was the inspiration behind the song, "For me, joy is the ultimate feeling that I was feeling [when creating 'Better Thangs'], and I wanted for people to feel that with this record."
That much is evident in the song's chorus which goes: "Better things, better things, all new еverything / Better things, bеtter things / Better things, better things / Ain't got time for petty things, I'm on better things, yeah."
According to reports, the music video was directed by Mia Barnes, with choreography done by the viral TikTok dance duo the Nae Nae twins.
"'Better Thangs' is a feel-good R&B anthem for elevating every aspect of your life," the Grammy-winning artist said. "It's meant to bring joy while inspiring the continuous evolution of one's self."

Connection
Ciara brought in Summer Walker to give "Better Thangs" more life, as the pair have such a deep connection with each other.
"I have so much respect for my girl Summer and it's fitting to have her on the record because we connect on so many levels, from where we come from, to our journeys and our mission to inspire other people to go after what they deserve in life...better thangs!" She said in a statement.
This is not the first time Ciara and Walk have collaborated. They worked on "Ciara's Prayer" together, which was released in 2021.
This is a connection that Ciara not only wanted to have with Walker, but with the audience as well. "I just really hope people feel inspired to go and get what's theirs and get what they deserve."
Journey
Aside from making music, Ciara has also been up to other endeavors, like launching a skincare line, OAM Skin (which stands for On A Mission), clothing line House of LR&C (which stands for Love, Respect and Care), and many more.
"But just thinking about this incredible journey that I've been able to go on professionally and most importantly personally, I love where I am as a woman," she said.
She admitted that it was difficult to find a balance between working on her brans and being a mother, however, she welcomed the challenge and added that it has been working out for her.
"That's better things for me. I like where I am as far as my energy, doing my best to get to joy as quickly as possible," she continued.
Through her new lifestyle, she also wants to inspire others to go for their dreams through both her music and brands, "If you dream big, believe in your big dream. Know that there are big plans in store for you. You have to really channel what that is for you."
