This week, Girls Aloud will reunite at a charity gala to honor their late bandmate Sarah Harding, who passed away from cancer last year. This reunion is actually a fulfillment for Harding's dying wish.

Kimberley Walsh, 40, Cheryl Tweedy, 39, Nadine Coyle, 37, and Nicola Roberts, 36, will fulfill the dying desire of their friend Sarah by hosting a concert to collect money for Sarah's oncologist's research that studies why so many young women succumb to breast cancer.

The group has invited a lot of celebs to perform, but they will not perform themselves.

Kimberley told The Sun that performing just doesn't feel right without their beloved bandmate.

She added that the whole group misses her so terribly. It is just so difficult to comprehend that she has passed away.

She also said that before Sarah passed away, they were able to speak with her, and she instructed them to raise as much money as possible for charity."

Olly Alexander, 32, who sang "Years & Years," will take the stage. Apart from him, Ricky Wilson, Sarah's co-star in "St. Trinian's", and pop diva Chrissie Hynde, 71, will also be joining the event.

Cheryl, Nadine, and Nicola reconnected earlier this year in London's Hyde Park for the Race for Life for Sarah.

While Kimberley was out of the country and unable to attend the Cancer Research UK event, she participated in the 5K walk remotely.

Cheryl previously stated that she wishes to remember Sarah before the cancer engulfed her being.

The music singer was shocked by the breast cancer death of her former bandmate in September 2021. While Cheryl admits it's difficult to let go of memories of her friend's illness, the Fight for this Love singer hopes this bad event can recede into the background.

Cheryl remarked in a Vogue piece that she'd like to move on by remembering Sarah before her illness. Although memories of that time exist and are difficult to shake, they carry no weight in comparison to the brilliant light she shone in the years prior.

She described Sarah as comprising of a variety of facets, including a playful, effervescent side, a close-to-the-edge risk-taking side, and a very soft and vulnerable side. In the group's final days with her, they were able to laugh, cry, reminisce, cook, watch spiritual programming (our shared passion), and pray together. Those are the memories that she said she will carry with her when the illness fades into the background.
