Loretta Lynn's final days did not leave a sign that she was going to die.
The music world was shaken up by the news about Lynn's death on Tuesday, with her publicist and family confirming that she died at her Hurricane Mills, Tennessee, home in her sleep.
Although details about her deteriorating health emerged, Poison frontman Bret Michaels recalled seeing the singer in high spirits when they sang together weeks before her passing.
On Instagram, Michaels paid tribute to Lynn and revealed he visited her to sing some songs together. He called her an "incredible person and human being with an incredible talent."
This resonated with his interview with Rolling Stone. According to the lead singer, Lynn was sitting on a blanket when they started singing "Good Good Times" and "Every Rose."
However, he also noted that he already felt that his most recent visit could be his last as Lynn knew she was also not feeling well.
Despite losing her, Michaels spoke proudly about how big an influence Lynn was to the industry and his kids.
The country singer herself shared her last Instagram post which was powerful enough to inspire other people. The post featured the verse John 3:21, and she added an inspiring message in the caption.
"Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God. John 3:20-21," she said.
Loretta Lynn's Tragic Death
The family's statement confirmed that Lynn died in her sleep, but they did not disclose any details about her cause of death.
However, the several health issues she went through reemerged as the public remains curious about how the singer died.
Her fans and colleagues said these issues caused her to quit touring and stay at home until her death.
Lynn's health issues started in 2016 when she suffered a fall at home. She was urged by her doctors to cancel her tours and dedicate her time to recuperating at home. She then suffered a stroke the following year but fortunately made a full recovery.
In 2018, she broke her hip and got sick due to an undisclosed illness.
