Good news for memorabilia collectors and fans! Three of Fleetwood Mac's members will be putting up their personal items in an auction. However, there are two members missing.
According to Billboard, the iconic rock band is collaborating with Julien's Auctions for an event called "Fleetwood Mac: Property From the Lives and Careers of Christine McVie, John McVie And Mick Fleetwood."
The auction will take place at Julien's Auctions in Beverly Hills, California, from December 3 to 4. Fans will also have the chance to purchase the items online through julienslive.com.
It appears that the band is doing the auction for a good cause as an unspecified portion of the proceeds will go to MusiCares.
As fans noticed at the event's title, two members are missing from the lineup: Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham. The band did not specify why the two musicians chose not to participate at the auction.
What Can Fans Expect at the Auction?
Executive director and CFO of the company, Martin Nolan, issued a statement about the event, saying they are honored to offer the collection of history coming from the three members of "one of the most influential and successful rock and roll bands of all time."
"We are also pleased to announce that a portion of the auction proceeds will benefit MusiCares to support the charity's work providing critical services to underserved members of the music community," he added.
Fans can expect many items up for grabs, more than 700 instruments, clothing, memorabilia, awards, and more will be available for purchase.
Recordings, artwork, jewelry, and live performances will also be included in the lineup.
There is one prized possession that collectors are looking forward to snagging, the Yamaha C3 baby grand piano personally played by Christine McVie while touring with the band for many years. The beloved instrument is estimated to be sold for $40,000 to $60,000.
McVie issued a statement regarding the selling of her piano, saying it's been an important part of her life and career. Even though it's hard for her to let it go, she's happy that it will be owned by another person, hoping that they will cherish it the way she did.
