Famed country music singer Jody Miller has passed away recently at 80 years old in her Blanchard, Oklahoma residence.

The GRAMMY-winning singer's death was announced via her daughter's band's Facebook page Middle-Sister Music.

"Middle Sister is sorry to announce the passing of Jody Miller this morning, music icon and mother of Robin Brooks. Please remember the family as they deal with this great loss," the band said in a statement.

What Is Jody Miller's Cause of Death?

According to The New York Post, Jody Miller's cause of death is attributed to complications that arose due to her Parkinson's Disease.

Miller was apparently diagnosed with the terminal illness seven years ago, succumbing to the disease yesterday, Oct. 6, 2022.

As of this writing, Miller's family has kept all of the country singer's funeral details and other relevant information from the public.

It is expected that in the coming weeks, tributes and a schedule for her funeral will be published soon. Coincidentally, Jody Miller passed away days after fellow Country Gospel Music Association Hall of Famer Loretta Lynn died.

Sadly, two country music icons passed away in a span of one week.

Jody Miller Music Career

Jody Miller was a famed country music musician. She has gained popularity mainly on her response song to Roger Miller's "King of the Road," with "Queen of the House."

The track was Miller's most successful track to date.

According to Billboard, "Queen of the House" was an answer to Roger Miller's famed track, breaching both country and pop charts at the time.

The track peaked at No. 12 o the Billboard Hot 100 charts and reached Top Five on the Hot Country Singles chart.

The song also earned Miller her first and only GRAMMY win for Best Country & Western Vocal Performance - Female Category in 1966. Roger Miller won plenty of GRAMMY Awards that night, taking home six recognitions both for his song "King of the Road," and its parent album "The Return of Roger Miller."

Jody Miller went on to a semi-retirement during the 80s but eventually became a Christian music artist, to which she released a couple of albums in the same genre.

The publication also reported that Jody Miller recorded her last album in 2020, "Wayfaring Stranger." Meanwhile, in 2018, she was finally inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame for her great contribution to the state's music.
