It seems like Charlie Puth is one of the Barbz, after all!
The singer, who recently released his self-titled album, "CHARLIE," has opened up more of himself amid the ongoing "queerbaiting" issues he had over the past months.
He, however, confirmed that he was just showing off his body which he had put time and effort into for a long time.
Puth revealed these statements in a profile interview with GQ Magazine that was published along with the release of his new album.
Elsewhere in the interview, Puth elaborated on how he is forging a better relationship with his fans. While doing so, he mentioned Nicki Minaj as a major inspiration for this.
He went on to gush over Nicki Minaj, revealing that she is inspired by the female rapper and the love she overwhelmingly receives from her fans.
Puth recalled how because of the Barbz, Nicki Minaj's fans helped the Queen of Rap catapult the track to Billboard Hot 100 #1 - because of this, Charlie revealed that he was more inspired to connect with his fans.
"The Barbz will kill for her. And the reason why the Barbz will kill for her is because they've been with her for 10-plus, 15 years," he pointed out.
More so, he also recalled a time when Nicki complimented him because of his voice; he was melting like chocolate in a hot car.
Puth continued to gush over the "Super Bass" rapper, even recalling the first time he stumbled upon her. (via Billboard)
"I've always loved Nicki. I remember in the early days of Twitter, hearing that this new artist Nicki Minaj sold a million copies of her mixtape by herself and got signed to Cash Money. I was so enamored with the fact that you could do something on your own and then transfer all that success to a major label and then I heard"-he grins and sings the chorus of Minaj's "Your Love"-"and I was like, who the fuck produced this? It had that foul ass 808 in it and Nicki was singing and rapping at the same time," he continued.
The singer also underscored a comment that Elton John gave about her music, saying that his music "sucked," this propelled the singer to rewrite and rethink his music and songwriting process.
Currently, Charlie Puth's newest album, "CHARLIE," is already out on streaming platforms.
