Guitarist Jared James Nichols survived his near-death experience after his Portland show.

For the first time in years, Nichols held a show at Polaris Hall in Portland alongside Ape Machine and Tigers on Opium. While it was a success, the musician almost lost his life after the concert due to the terrifying incident he faced.

In his Instagram post, he revealed that he and Jesse James are grateful that they survived the hit-and-run and gun threat caused by a drunk driver.

"Last night after my show in Portland, my friend Jessie & I were involved in a hit and run by a drunk driver. We were stopped at a red light and were plowed into by the back of his car by a truck doing at least 40mph. Besides some serious whiplash and being in complete shock we were unharmed from the accident," Nichols wrote.

They reportedly called the Portland Police and informed them about what happened. However, the getaway truck reappeared while waiting for help to get the things out of the first vehicle the driver was initially on.

At that time, the getaway driver pulled a handgun and pointed it at him. After pleading not to shoot him, Nichols ran in the opposite direction as he prepared himself for the worst.

Fortunately, the driver did not shoot at him, and he went home safe and sound.

Jared James Nichols' Favorite Childhood Memory

On the lighter side of the life events he went through, he opened up earlier this year about the first concerts he attended when he was a kid.

In an interview with Guitar World earlier this year, he recalled watching Zakk Wylde and Ozzy Osbourne when he was 14. He recalled the first time Wylde alongside the other rocker and witnessed how powerful the performance was.

From there, Wylde became his guitar hero.

He also talked about growing up listening to Black Sabbath and Mountain. But as he took on his own path in the music industry, he set his ultimate goal to become "himself" and feel confident in what he wanted to create.

Nichols shared how he is making it come true through his most recent EP, "Shadow Dancer." His other works include "Highwayman," "Black Magic," "Nails in the Coffin," "Threw Me To The Wolves," and "Bad Roots."
