Robbie Williams admitted that meeting with Oasis at Glastonbury was the impetus for his "new life" when he left Take That as he kicked off his "XXV Tour" on Sunday night at The O2 in London.
The 48-year-old singer reminisced on stage about meeting Liam and Noel Gallagher at the world-famous music festival in Somerset, South West England, in 1995, shortly after deciding to leave the top-charting boy band.
Although relations between Williams and the Gallagher brothers subsequently deteriorated, with Noel's "fat dancer from Take That" remark igniting one of music's most iconic feuds, the pop icon acknowledges that incident placed him on a path to become one of the most successful solo artists of all time.
The feud did wonders to his solo career it seems.
Before singing a cover of the Oasis hit 'Don't Look Back In Anger,' Robbie stated that he began to have ideas for his own songs.

He added that due to a chain of unfortunate events, he committed the cardinal error of disobeying the rules and then suddenly, they could no longer contain him.
Robbie Williams interspersed his set of hits with personal anecdotes from his life. At one point, he displayed on the large screen the music video for Take That's breakthrough hit "Do What You Like," in which he, Gary Barlow, Jason Orange, Mark Owen, and Howard Donald were shirtless and covered in jelly.
After reminiscing about the promotion, he performed two lyrics of "Everything Changes," much to his fans' joy.
Williams also mentioned Take That's wildly successful comeback and his 2010 reunion with Gary and the boys on his album "Progress."
Robbie also affectionately dedicated 'I Love My Life' from his 2016 album "The Heavy Entertainment Show" to his wife Ayda Field. Robbie exited the stage to thunderous applause after performing "Rock DJ" then returned to perform his major hits "No Regrets," "She's the One," and "Angels" as an encore.
Back in June, Robbie Williams made fun of Liam Gallagher's previous Knebworth performances. The Angels singer stated that he could easily play the venue again if he sold tickets as "cheaply" as the former Oasis frontman did last weekend.
According to the magazine, tickets for Liam's Knebworth performances for 160,000 fans over two nights cost £65. However, Robbie swiftly recanted and told the publication: "Can I just apologise for saying the 'cheaply' thing - if you write that, can you say I apologise; I was being bitchy."
