It looks like Ringo Starr is seeing a quarantine room again, as he was recently diagnosed with COVID-19 shortly after he recovered three days ago.
According to PEOPLE Magazine, the former Beatles drummer is suffering from a case of a rebound infection, a rare case that has happened even to President Joe Biden earlier this year.
"I'm sure you'll be as surprised as I was I tested positive again for Covid the rest of the tour is off I send you peace and love Ringo," he posted on Twitter.
Because of this, the music icon was prompted to make some difficult decisions for his touring.
Earlier this month, Ringo tested positive for the virus too. He has been forced to cancel his shows in Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Lethbridge, Penticton, and Abbotsford in Canada and one gig at the Mystic Lake Casino in Minnesota.
"It has been confirmed today that Ringo has Covid and the tour will be on hold while Ringo recuperates. Ringo hopes to resume as soon as possible and is recovering at home. As always, he and the All Starrs send peace and love to their fans and hope to see them back out on the road soon," the statement read at the time.
"Feeling better" shortly after his diagnosis, Starr updated his loyal fanbase last Monday that he had already recovered from the virus initially.
Ringo Starr Health Condition
Ringo Starr has had COVID-19 twice in the span of one month. According to BBC, the icon has been very cautiously avoiding the virus as he rarely goes outside during the early years of the pandemic.
In a PEOPLE Magazine interview with Rutgers University's Robert Wood Johnson Medical School Medicine Professor and Pulmonary Physician Dr. Reynold Panettieri, he noted that current COVID-19 data still doesn't show which group are susceptible to the virus.
"But it stands to reason that patients with chronic illness or who are immunocompromised are more vulnerable. It's hard to generalize but they may still get some protection from the vaccine and have less severe disease. The CDC report has not shown clusters in the elderly or with specific associated infections," he mentioned.
Currently, Ringo Starr is still strong and touring North America despite being 82 years old already, showcasing his vitality and longevity through performing hours-long sets in front of big crowds.
