Good news for SZA's fans! It appears that the singer will drop a new project anytime soon as she confirmed during her latest festival appearance; what would be the title of her new song and will it have a music video?
According to Uproxx, the "Broken Clocks" hitmaker performed at this year's Austin City Limits festival where she confirmed that the visuals for her song "Shirt" were supposed to drop anytime that day, but she had to cancel the premiere due to an issue.
"It didn't come out because I looked at the video, and I was stressed at one small thing in the video," she said.
She later clarified that the video had already been fixed and it was "about to come out." However, as of this writing, SZA has not shared a release date and time for her music video.
After explaining the visual fiasco, the R&B star said she wanted to perform new music from her upcoming album because her fans deserve it.
SZA's New Album: What Would It Sound Like?
Speaking to Complex about her highly-anticipated project, SZA said her album is "all over the place" because she doesn't see the vision of what it sounds like.
"Which is why I had to go to the mode of what feels good to my brain and to my energy and the songs that I think are hot, I just have to go with them. I have no idea what it sounds like to anybody else," she explained.
In addition, she revealed that there are tracks that "are incredibly soft" while the others are "aggressive" and some of them are "ballads."
As of this writing, the singer has not unveiled an official tracklist, album art, and release date for her new album.
Producer Carter Lang confirmed to the outlet that they are in the final stages of refining the album, but he's still unsure when it's coming out.
On the other hand, Cody Jordan Fayne commended SZA for her improvement in the new album, saying her voice had gotten stronger and her songwriting skills got more polished.
"We're taking you into a different world that you didn't know existed on the map, period," he added, speaking about the album.
SZA's last album, "Ctrl," served as her debut record and it was released in 2017. In honor of its 5th anniversary, she released a deluxe edition earlier this year with new songs.
