Fans got more than what they bargained for when they attended Jhene Aiko's concert at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. Little did they know they were part of a gender reveal celebration.
During her concert, Aiko brought out Big Sean, her boyfriend, onstage and they performed a duet. While they did so, they took a moment of pause.
"LA, make some noise," Big Sean said, for their "baby boy," Aiko added, as the entire theatre erupted in cheers.
A video of the sweet moment was uploaded by a fan on Twitter, captioning it with "Jhene brought out Big Sean," with crying emojis.
Long Time
Aiko, born Jhené Aiko Efuru Chilombo, and Big Sean, born Sean Michael Leonard Anderson, have been together since 2016, however, their relationship was mostly on-again-off-again, reports say.
In July, news that the singers were expecting started going around as Aiko flaunted her baby bump in a form-fitting dress.
This comes after an Instagram Live hosted by the pair back in April. They showed fans a glimpse of their relationship as they flirted back and forth.
"You look good," the 34-year-old singer told Aiko, who sarcastically replied, "Oh yeah? Why don't you marry me?"
Fans went wild at the possibility of Big Sean proposing to the "While We're Young" singer. "It's in the works. Don't even trip," he added.
On And Off
According to reports, the two broke up in March 2019. They confirmed that they split after three years of dating.
In March 2020, Aiko dropped "Chilombo," her third studio album. The rapper went on social media to publicly congratulate and promote the album.
"'Chilombo' out now!" He wrote on Instagram. "Congrats my baby you earned this one."
In Aiko's post, he commented "I love you, we all so proud! Thank you.[sic]"
Aiko began her music career in 2002. She contributed to several B2K releases, however, she did not rise to prominence until she signed under Artium Records Imprint through Def Jam.
She was featured on "Beware," a song by Big Sean. The song entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart, it was her first-ever song to enter the charts.
She then released "Sail Out," her debut EP in 2013.
In 2014, she won the Centric Award for "The Worst" at the BET Awards. She has been nominated six times at the Grammy Awards.
