Paul McCartney of The Beatles let his guard down when he listened to a song by Elvis Presley.

The Beatles' fans know how the King of Rock and Roll influenced the band in the 1950s. They got the chance to meet Presley before he died at the age of 42 in 1977.

In an article published by Reverb, the news outlet revealed that McCartney had an interview with guitar writer Tony Bacon in 1994. He opened up about the Presley song, which made him emotional upon hearing it.

"Yeah. I heard them this summer - haven't heard them for years - and I was blown away. I suddenly realized the last time I listened to this thoroughly was before The Beatles, before all that happened to me, and it just stripped it all away. It was like I was a kid playing snooker again and listening. It actually got me crying, pow. Really did it to me," he said, per Express.

The Presley's song in question was "I Want You, I Need You, I Love You." McCartney confessed to remembering all the words, especially the line "Hold me close, hold me tight..."

The track was written by Maurice Mysels and Ira Kosloff and served as the late singer's seventh single. It appeared on the charts in May 1956, becoming his second No. 1 single to reach the country music charts.

The Beatles Members "Angry" After Meeting Elvis Presley

Although The Beatles looked up to Presley, the Fab Four had a nightmare encounter with him that left the members angry and disappointed.

It was revealed that the "Can't Help Falling in Love" hitmaker reacted strangely to John Lennon's positive messages to him when they met for the first and last time on Aug. 27, 1965.

The five musicians met at The King's Los Angeles home in Bel Air after The Beatles arrived at 10:00 p.m. that day.

In Peter Guralnick's book "Peter Guralnick's Careless Love: The Unmaking of Elvis Presley," the author revealed that Presley was not excited to meet the musicians. When The Beatles arrived, the members looked speechless as they finally met their music hero.

However, Presley - although he greeted them - told the band he would go to bed if they would not start the conversation.

They played instruments afterward, but the meeting left The Beatles angry and disappointed because the King of Rock and Roll was "a boring old fart" at that time.
