Good news for Guns N' Roses fans! Slash confirmed that the band has many songs to release in the future as revealed in his recent interview.
Speaking to Eddie Trunk's "Trunk Nation" SiriusXM show, the lead guitarist revealed that they still have a "couple of epic" tracks dropping soon. In addition to new music, he also discussed their touring plans over the next coming months.
Slash, whose real name is Saul Hudson, said he wanted to record new songs at some point "sooner than later," but since they still have a lot of songs that they haven't released yet, fans should expect new music from them over the next few months.
"That's basically it. We have one more tour left to do next summer, and then that'll free us up to be able to go in and work on a new record," he shared. (via Ultimate Classic Rock)
The last time they dropped new music for fans was last year with the tracks "Hard Skool" and "Absurd." It was the first time Axl Rose, Slash, and Duff McKagan worked together since 1994 with the cover of "Sympathy for the Devil" by the Rolling Stones.
Both songs were a part of their "Chinese Democracy" sessions, but this time, it features newly recorded parts from Slash and the bassist.
Guns N' Roses Reworked Old Songs During the Pandemic
Since most musicians' tours and performances were halted due to the pandemic in 2020, the band decided to rework their old songs.
Slash said they have several tracks that they "fixed up and did" while they were in lockdown and most of it has not been released yet.
"We're just gonna put out like one or two songs, and another one or two songs, and I think that's gonna be pretty much all of them," he added.
The main difference between their new songs and unreleased tracks is their roots because "Hard Skool" goes "way back."
Assuring fans that they will enjoy their future projects, the guitarist said the "epic ones" are coming soon and he's excited about them.
In other Guns N' Roses updates, the band will be releasing a "Use Your Illusion" box set next month featuring several recordings of their previous live performances, 97 songs, a Blu-ray video of their "Live In New York" concert movie" and more.
