The genius behind some of Billie Eilish's hits, Finneas, announced via Instagram that he had a serious accident while riding his electronic bike the previous week, which required surgery.
The 25-year-old musician went on the social media platform to share a picture of his chest X-Ray. But according to him, that was just one of his many injuries.
"Last Friday, I had the pleasure of crashing my electric bike, flying over the handlebars and absolutely demolishing my collarbone as well as sustaining a radial head fracture to my right elbow," wrote the singer-songwriter and producer.
He added that "the severity of the displacement of [his] collarbone" required him to undergo surgery, however, he reassured fans, "I am now on the other side and I'm feeling great!"
He also thanked the team behind his surgery and recovery and added a shoutout to his family and Claudia Sulewski, his girlfriend of four years, " for dropping everything to take care of me the second this happened."
Moral Of The Story
After the serious incident, Finneas had one major takeaway from the entire ordeal-wear a helmet.
"As foolish as I felt after the fall, my prevailing emotion is gratitude. You see, I was not wearing a helmet," he wrote.
"Lesson forever learned. I feel so lucky to still be here. Take care of yourselves, [and] thank your bodies for all that they do for you. See you all again soon."
According to reports, there is quite a number of other artists who have taken quite a fall off their bikes and sustained serious injuries. In 2014, U2's frontman Bono suffered from an arm injury following a bike accident in New York; Ed Sheeran had a bike accident in 2017, wherein a car bumped into his bike while he was riding it.
Additionally, if fans are worried about his appearance at Eilish's Los Angeles show, "Hometown Encore," set for Dec. 13, 15, and 16, then fret not, because Finneas reassured fans he will be there for it.
Finneas Baird O'Connell, or just simply Finneas, is the genius behind Eilish's hit song, "Ocean Eyes."
He has eight Grammy Awards. He also won Producer of the Year at the 2020 iHeartRadio Music Awards.
