Tyga Urges Empire State Building To Go Gold For Children's Cancer Research

YMCMB rapper Tyga has been having a hard time convincing the Empire State Building's management to change its colors and he needs your help.

According to Vibe, Tyga wants the building's operators to change its colors to gold but it's not what you think.

He wants the colors changed, not for promotion of his album, but in support of Pediatric Cancer Awareness. Tyga is asking for the lights to be changed in September.

Tyga, who is also a father, has used his celebrity to raise awareness on an issue that is clearly dear to his heart.

He recently took to Twitter to rally up his followers in support.

Back in December, Tyga stopped by the Children's Center for Cancer & Blood Diseases at Children's Hospital in Los Angeles and visited more than 60 children with rare cancer and blood diseases.

While there, he handed out speakers, headphones and clothing from his Last Kings clothing line.

"It's important to support nonprofit organizations like Children's Hospital Los Angeles—they take incredible care of our community, so I am honored to help make a difference for these children who are from the city I grew up in and to help encourage them and to bring a smile to their faces," Tyga said of his trip.

Fellow Young Money rapper Drake recently sent out condolences for a terminally-ill fan he spent a day with in Houston.

Back in April, he traveled down to Houston to spend the day with Kennedy Brown, a 15-year-old who suffered from an inoperable cancerous brain tumor, after her friends took to social media using the hashtag #DrakeForKen to get the rapper's attention.
