Taylor Swift launched her chart-topping album "Midnights," which inspired a TikTok fad.

After the debut of the new album, social media couldn't stop buzzing, and it's no wonder that the singer's songs spawned multiple TikTok trends, notably "MasterMind."

TikTok users were particularly taken with the song since the lyrics discuss entering a "by design" relationship while making it appear to be an accident or a happenstance.

The song formed the foundation of a trend in which people disclose details about how they got into partnerships.

Taylor Swift is well-known for being a sympathetic figure when it comes to relationship issues. After all, the core themes of the majority of her songs are loss and betrayal.

TIkTok users, on the other hand, considered the lyrics of "Mastermind" to be incredibly relevant, comparing it to their own cases of "boyfriend acquisition."

According to one user, she messaged her lover on Instagram with 20 book recommendations after he sought them out.

She then admitted to digging deep into his posts and attempting to impress him by recommending his favorite novels, despite not having read the books she recommended.

The user said how she gave him a book to borrow since she thought it would guarantee a second date, and how it kept her on his mind "until Thanksgiving break, and now we're married."

Another TikTok user described how she convinced her mother to pay her boyfriend as a math instructor so she could spend more time with him. She went on to say that they had been dating for three years.

Another user stated that she discovered a band on a streaming site, learnt the lyrics to their songs, and began tagging them on her Instagram Stories in order to arrange a date.

"I told him I didn't really know anything about his music, and now we've been dating for two years," she explained.

Fans Are Divided Over the Latest TikTok Trend

While others seem to be enjoying the trend, with some people hoping their luck will come when designing relationships with their favorite celebrities, some aren't big fans of the movement.

One person proclaimed how they didn't want to have to play games to find love in their life.

Another person chimed in, saying how some of the stories seemed so dramatized just for the trend.

While another social media user said that girls should pay attention to the things that guys like so it wouldn't come off as "weird and lying."
