Two powerhouse producers, Pharrell Williams and BTS' RM, reunited for an interview with Rolling Stones, where they dropped a bombshell-they recorded a collab song, and will feature it on his upcoming album.
According to reports, Pharrell's highly-anticipated album is called "Phriends," a play on his surname, and will only be the first of many, as he only confirmed that it will be the first volume.
"You guys [BTS] are on there, obviously," Pharrell said to RM. "And I'm actually talking about this way more than I'm supposed to, but it's a song from my album that [BTS] sang and it's amazing, and I'm super grateful."
His excitement and sentiments on the song are echoed by the KPOP star, who replied, "I f**king love it."
Fans are in for a treat because it seems like everyone has heard of the song but them, and everyone seemed to really enjoy it, as per Pharrell.
"I love it, too," Pharrell excitedly said. "Everyone that hears it is like, 'whoa!'"
This is the first time either of the two has even spoken about the collaboration, and it probably won't be the last.
Solo Album
Following the news of BTS' hiatus, it comes as no surprise that its leader is in the works of making his debut solo album.
According to reports, he is actually nearly done with it-about 90% done, to be specific-however, this did not deter Pharrell from offering a lending hand to his pal.
"I'm just going to put this out there. You said you're 90 percent done with your solo album. But if within that last 10 percent, if you need-you don't need me, but I mean..." He jokingly said.
RM, on the other hand, was quite serious when he replied, "I always needed you, for 15 years."
"Okay, well, if you want to do something, we can actually do it," the "Happy" singer said.
Fans now have the reassurance that the pair will indeed reunite once again in the future, but they did not note when they planned to do so.
'Phriends'
As of this writing, Pharrell is yet to announce when he plans to drop his upcoming album, and aside from the BTS collab, he has kept most information close to his chest.
However, given that title of the album, fans can certainly expect to see a myriad of artists featured.
According to reports, the N.E.R.D leader is known to bring in several artists for collaborations and performances.
During his set at in a festival in Washington, D.C., he invited SZA, Q-Tip, Justin Timberlake, Clipse, N.O.R.E., and others for "Pharrell and Friends."
