Aaron Carter's Final Performance Before Death: Singer Made 'Eerie' Goodbye Song? [Video]

Just hours before his shocking death, Aaron Carter posted a final, ominous social media message about "being gone."

The musician passed away on Saturday at the age of 34, according to The U.S. Sun. Carter was sadly discovered dead at his home in Lancaster, California, on Saturday.

The body of the singer, rapper, and actor was discovered "unresponsive in the bathtub" according to The Sun.

On Thursday, a friend posted the final performance video of him.

Carter could be heard singing in the music video, "I'll tell my honey I'll be gone, but not for long."

On stage, he delivered a verse about a love interest while shirtless and displaying his tattoos. He was then shown smoking a cigarette while rapping with CheckTheStar; the song is titled "Lately (ft Aaron Carter)."

"This classic song was inspired by toxic relationships," the video's description reads.

A Lancaster deputy told The U.S. Sun at the morning of the tragedy, they responded to a call made at 10:58 a.m.

They discovered a deceased person at his apartment and there is currently no information or indication of foul play, and police caution tape has been placed around his residence.

The caller was the house sitter, who reported she discovered the gentleman in the bathtub. The operator instructed her to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) prior to the arrival of the deputies.

The cause of death at this time has not been officially confirmed.

Aaron originated as a pop vocalist in the late 1990s but has now transitioned to rap.

Aaron soared to fame after releasing four studio albums, including his self-titled first album in 1997 at the age of nine.

Nick Carter's younger brother Aaron was the Backstreet Boys star Aaron Carter.

At the age of nine, he signed his first record deal. During his teenage years, he opened for the Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears.

His debut album was published a year later and was certified gold by the Hollywood Reporter. He also has two sisters, including his identical twin, Angel, and Leslie, who died at the age of 25 from a heroin overdose in 2012.

Aaron's life changed after a childhood filled with touring and number one hits.

His substance misuse and mental health were problems made widely known. His son, Prince, whom he shares with his ex-girlfriend Melanie Martin, survives him. The couple welcomed their child in November of 2021. They separated shortly after the birth of their son Prince and had numerous personal conflicts.
