HELIX's former guitarist Daniel Fawcett was found dead on Sunday in Ontario Park, the band's frontman confirmed.

On Helix The Band's official Facebook page, frontman Brian Vollmer confirmed the passing of its former member whom he called a sweet guy. The same post disclosed that Fawcett was murdered in a North London Park over the weekend.

"Dan was a sweet guy-always smiling-and a great guitar player as well. No details have been released yet, so there's little more I can say here. All I can say is that both Lynda and I are in shock. Stay tuned," he continued.

Blabbermouth quoted the first report shared by Global News, in which the news outlet divulged the details surrounding Fawcett's death. The guitarist was reportedly found unresponsive around 6:45 a.m. on Sunday near Grosvenor Street hill.

Responders arrived in the area and immediately performed CPR in pursuit of reviving Fawcett. However, police said he was proclaimed dead afterward.

His longtime friend and fellow musician Tim E. Hendry told Global News that he had a great time working with Fawcett, noting that the drummer became part of the bands he played drums in the past years.

Hendry also called him a "brother" who became famous for his incredible talent in playing guitar. He went on to express how heartbreaking it is to face a tragic loss following his untimely death.

Details about the suspects remain undisclosed, but investigators have already asked the potential witnesses to call the London Police Service to help them find the culprit.

Daniel Fawcett Died After Dan McCafferty's Passing

Aside from remembering Fawcett, HELIX also paid tribute to another old friend, Dan McCafferty, who passed away on Tuesday.

The 76-year-old musician reportedly died due to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The Nazareth Direct's website revealed that the crooner had COPD, which worsened in recent years.

This also caused him to retire from touring in 2013.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, COPD occurs when an airflow blockage and breathing-related problems arise. This condition affects 16 million Americans and can lead to other specific health conditions like chronic bronchitis and emphysema.

McCafferty's colleague and Nazareth co-bandmate, Pete Agnew, shared the "saddest announcement" on Instagram. Before his death, he was still able to release his final solo album, "Last Testament," in 2019. It served as his first album since his 1987 "Into the Ring."
