Aaron Carter's pal recently shared a series of messages he received from the former child star right before his tragic death.
In an interview with The Sun, Taylor Helgeson, who had planned to record a few songs with Aaron the following week, described him as "so excited" and "extremely optimistic" about their work together.
After producers from Denmark flew to Los Angeles to produce his album, the late pop star was reportedly overjoyed about the future of his career.
He went on to say that on the final night, he received a text from the "I'm All About You" hitmaker, saying, "'Bro, these songs are amazing,'" to whim Taylor responded, "And I said, 'I know, I can't wait until you record them.' And he said, 'I promise you, this is our best work yet.'"
Despite knowing the 34-year-old had a lot of issues, the friend felt he could handle it.
Taylor recalled that the father-of-one had sent him a "checking in" text message, informing him that he was on his way back to his Los Angeles home.
It was reportedly around 6:32 PM when he got a text from Aaron which said, "'Holy s---! The new album, what the f---? This is definitely a Grammy!' And I said, 'Yeah, and you deserve it.' And he said, 'Huge! Our best work yet.'"
Aaron apparently tried to phone Taylor, who was on a plane at the time and couldn't respond. The "I Want Candy" singer reportedly invited him to his home to record songs and begin vocal tracking. It was around 9:30 p.m. Aaron, on the other hand, did not appear to Taylor's residence.
Aaron Carter was discovered dead in his bathroom on November 5 by his housekeeper. Around 11 a.m., authorities arrived on the scene.
Taylor refuses to comment on the reason of Aaron Carter's death until the autopsy and formal coroner's report are completed. He emphasized, though, that his friend was not suicidal.
TMZ originally reported that many cans of compressed air, as well as a couple bottles of prescription pills, were discovered at his home.
Aaron struggled with mental illness, anxiety, and addiction, and he was terrified of losing custody of his 11-month-old son Prince.
The ex-child star is survived by his fiancée Melanie Martin and their son.
